Last month we revealed that the Oculus Quest 2 had become the most popular VR headset on the Steam network. Since our last report, the Quest 2 has continued to show strong support, increasing its dominance on the platform by +3.53%, to grow to 27.79% of all VR headsets used.
Its nearest rival is another Oculus product, the Rift S. The biggest rivals to the Facebook owned company, the Valve Index and HTC Vive, have a combined share of 27.77% – less than the Quest 2 alone.
Oculus owned headsets now account for 59.94% of all headsets used on Steam.
The Quest 2 was the only headset to see any notable increase, whereas Oculus’ own Rift and Rift S, as well as the HTC Vive and Windows Mixed reality headsets all saw some drop off.
Interestingly, the amount of Steam users actually using a VR Headset dropped slightly, by -0.08%. As Steam do not reveal exact user numbers, it is impossible to say how much of a drop this is in real terms.
